A society that believes man is incapable of evil is in its death throes. A society that fails to recognize evil is already dead. A country that does battle for neither good nor evil is doomed to lose that battle.

What doesn’t cause global warming? Well, what does global warming cause, that might also be the question. From the Political Grapevine:
Some delegates at a climate change conference in London are blaming global warming for terrorism. Experts at the conference say global warming can exacerbate the divide between rich and poor, help […]

Mrs. Bergbikr and I spent Christmas week in Carmel-by-the-Sea, an enchanted village in mid-coastal California. We attended Christmas Eve Mass at Carmel Mission Basilica, preceded by magnificent choir caroling, and joined in that angelic prayer, Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men.
As we toured along the beautiful coast homebound, talk radio presented a […]

There is no doubt that a certain amount of transparency is essential for a modern democracy to function honestly. However, taken to the extreme, complete transparency would effectively make our National Security impotent and threaten the ability of the democracy to secure its very existence. There is […]

One of the effective weapons used by the left in America to bring about the shameful “Cut and run” from Vietnam, was the nightly body bag count (We’ll ignore the riots at home, the Jane Fonda’s and John Kerry’s and the clincher –Walter Cronkite’s big lie about who won the Tet Offensive).
A successful […]

About the time I emerged into this world seventy three years ago, a violent brand of ‘uber mensch’ nationalism was born in Europe delivered by Adolf Hitler. The expansionism of Germany was ignited by resentment over the terms of the armistice ending World War I, fueled by the quest for ‘lebensraum’ expansion to […]
It’s been said many times before, but Washington Times columnist Frank Gaffney Jr. says it quite well in his recent column “States of Denial.”
My Definition of “conspiracy theory”: An eagerness to believe in the absurd and to disbelieve the obvious. What’s next from the loony left, “Bush is in Iraq because Saddam was his gay lover and jilted him?”

Today, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that attorneys seeking to represent indigent clients are no longer required to sign documents swearing that they are not terrorists and have no involvement with terrorist groups. The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio had challenged the provision, which is part of the […]

I will never forget that day and what this Global War on Terrorism is all about: Islamofascists who hate our freedoms so much, and so wish to impose their New Caliphate upon the world, that they target people just like you and me, my family and yours.
When it comes to America’s enemies you can count on the ACLU to be there to defend them.
In a day and age when weapons of mass destruction are actively being sought after by large numbers of people who have announced their intent to get rid of us, we are fools to not be aggressively preparing to meet the threat.
Liberals, acting like mad men on a senseless rampage have gone past the point of no return. They are now openly charging Bush (and Blair) with staging a faux plot to blow up thousands of America-bound passengers.
As we enter this next election cycle, it would be well to remember this when we have to chose between the “cut and run” John Murtha party, or the party that is willing to destroy those first that seek to destroy us.
God bless the Tuckers and the Menchacas. And God save America from evil flith like the Westboro Baptists. This.Has.Got.To.STOP.
This special edition of Stars and Stripes includes interviews and vignettes that vividly bring to life the bravery and sacrifices of those who have earned medals for valor during this brutal war for survival against islamofascist terrorism.
Al Qaeda’s Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is dead – the victim of a US military action near Baghdad. The reporting and reaction of this news is yet to hit full stride in America – in short, how it will be spun is only to be conjectured.

In Victor Davis Hanson’s “Looking Back at Iraq” you will find some of the finest analysis of the latest, greatest battle for freedom this nation has fought, crafted with superb historical perspective and political insight. He lists exactly why 2,400 brave men and women died for in Iraq. Not only did they fight […]
If you haven’t stumbled upon this article already, it’s one you should read thoroughly. From Nina Shea, in today’s Sunday Outlook at WaPo: This is a Saudi textbook. (After the intolerance was removed.) Excerpts:
The following is what I believe to be the authentic letter from the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to his good and loyal friend President George W. Bush.
“All’s fair” is what makes the left joyful about $3.00 a gallon gasoline, relish bad news from Iraq, or allows them to act like pompous fools in White House briefings.
You can’t deny that these European imams are at least starting to talk the talk. Will they walk the walk? Personally, I choose to be hopeful, yet cautious.

Victor Davis Hanson nails it in this singular piece in National Review Online, March 31, 2006:
When Cynicism Meets Fanaticism
Critiquing the critique of the war in Iraq.
Opponents of the war in Iraq, both original critics and the mea culpa recent converts, have made eight assumptions. The first six are wrong, the last two still […]
